City Space

What makes a city unique? Many things I guess, but besides the beaches landscape and climate most can agree that the streets and architecture makes a great impact. Below you find some of the most unique buildings, design, architecture, impressive skylines or just some beautiful house decoration or street art the world has to offer. From small towns to mega cities, this is my city list.

Berlin

Berlin has quickly become a favourite city and for a reason. For many years it was considered a boring divided city influenced by communism, but within the last 10 or 15 years the city have blossomed into a colorful vibrant and hip city with street decoration and cool architecture side by side.

Campeche

Campeche is a small city on the Yucatan. Its old city is surrounded by a city wall and within these walls all the houses have been renovated and painted in different colours. The impression is fantastic when you walk around the city. The city is very clean too. Around the city plaza you find a church and some great hotels. The city is perfect for two or three days. Its very popular to rent a bike in this city.

Cape Town

Cape Town is one of my favourite cities in the world! It has it all: Great beaches, fantastic scenaries and landscape, perfect dining, and a cozy city harbour with local life and entertainment. But the city also have a creative class and street art is a big thing in Cape Town. Everywhere you walk you will most likely bump into an art installation somewhere whether you are around Camps Bay, City Bowl, The Harbour, The Townships or Wineland. For a colorful experience go for a walk around Bo Kaap. This area is known to be a former slave quarter. It was painted in different colours to break with the rules in prison where only dark colours was allowed.

Oia

Santorini is actually the name of the island. And the main city here is called Oia. Oia is everything you imagined in a dream. But Oia is very much real but too good to be true. Its build around and on a caldera which is a sunken volcano. Most houses here are white and pretty in terms of architecture. Its a typical Greek style and design and when overlooking the entire city from the view point it looks unreal and like no other city in the world. Once you get here you will immediately fall in love with Greece.

New York City

I am not the first one to say that New York City is cool and awesome. And probably not the last one. So I will skip that part. My favourite places in New York City are Harlem, Brooklyn and Manhatten.

Rome is like an outdoor museum. Everywhere you go you find buildings build before christ was born. Despite the city is falling apart this city have so much to offer.

Stone Town

The beauty of Stone Town

Stone Town has not the charm, attractions, greatness or facilities that most cities on this list have. Stone Town however gives the visitor a authentic feeling of a medium sized African city when witnessing the claustrophobic and busy fish market, faded city walls and former colony building style.

Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik is the perfect tourist city. It simply has got it all within a very limited area of the old town. On the up side Dubrovnik is beautiful, romantic, plenty of great restaurants and cool cafes with great views and the location is fantastic. On the down side Dubrovnik is crowded with cruise ship guests overrunning the city most of the living day light. The city is pricy and its almost impossible to find a parking space in the inner city. However the up sides still make it worth to visit Dubrovnik.

Paris
Paris
Notre Dame

Paris! The mother of all cities. No other city have been rated the best city in the world more times than Paris. And Kristin thinks it is the most romantic city in the world. All other cities are way behind when it comes to romantic streets and alleys with small cafe and restaurants.

Johannesburg

Johannesburg or just Joburg or Jozi as the locals call it. The city has many names and you are left with many impressions when you are leaving this city. Many locals recommend you to bypass the city and spend your time somewhere else. This is usually due to crime is rampant. But if you wanna understand South Africa and its challenges Johannesburg is the right place to start. With a guided tour in Soweto (Africans largest township), a visit to The Apartheid Museum which is spectacular education in South Africas past and a night out in Melville is a night to remember.

Singapore

I have been to Singapore three times and I never really understood why people visit Singapore more than once. There is not a lot to do and in fact its a bit too boring and expensive.

Barcelona

Barcelona is the perfect combination of beach holiday, culture kick and food experience. And the best thing is that Barcelona is cheaper than both Paris and Rome and has a lot more to offer.

My list would not be complete without Bangkok. The mother of creativity and sleekness. Forget about Berlin and Copenhagen. Bangkok is the melting pot for various funny weird amazing and crazy city life from speeding bodies in the night life to chill out mode at Khaosan Road this city simply shake, shock and awe you for the rest of your life.
