Sky bar Vs. Moon bar in Bangkok

Sky Bar and Moon Bar are two similar up market sky line bars in Sathon and Silom road overlooking the entire city of Bangkok. In same buildings you find hotels restaurants and shopping. Not sure which ones the better, but they are both too expensive but has a very nice view. Even though its Bangkoks jet set life living here you can as a tourist just wander in in a t shirt and jeans with flippers…Great stuff dude…

Why visit the bars: Great views and sun sets

Best experience: Getting two beers for free after complaining about the beer was not cold.

Worst: Receiving a bill of 540 bath for two beers (see above)

One beer 270 bath. At a normal bar beer is 80 bath

Many great cocktails

Cool angle

Moon Bar

Quite and awesome place when the noise on the street is getting too much

These places mainly attracts expats and tourists with money – thats me:-)

The lobby to the restaurant

Great menu cards with light

Great view

Nice skyline. This is Bangkok by night

Dua and friends at Skybar

Jack & coke and a Mojito

Moon bar was cool, but Sky bar is cooler right?

Tasty? I met Dua in 2002 in Bangkok ever since we have kept contact despite she went to live in LA. This time she came to Thailand for holiday and visit her family we hooked up twice in Bangkok to enjoy night life here.

The light in the bar changes every 5 seconds

The dome of Sky bar famous from Hangover 2 and many other films

Dua in front of the Sky bar. We were lucky to gain access to the bar. We were waiting 2 hours for the bar to open as it was raining outside

Indeed a competent bar with everything you can dream of and a great service. The place is highly recommendable to anyone who wants to escape the buzzeling streets of Bangkok
